Aflatoxins

Aflatoxin is a potent carcinogen produced by Aspergillus flavus on a variety of crops. Aflatoxin is one of the biggest problems for maize production in the Southern United States and leads to millions of dollars lost every year. There are multiple options for reducing aflatoxin.

Drought

Drought is a general term referring to a deficiency in a plant’s water supply during growth. Drought is important when it begins to decrease yield or quality of the crops being produced and this can be caused by a range of factors.

Maize / Corn

Maize is the most important crop produced in the United States having a production value of over $48 billion. Texas is the 12th largest producer of corn and the largest outside of the midwestern states.
